The New York Yankees claimed right-hander Michael Tonkin off waivers from the New York Mets on Thursday.The Mets designated Tonkin, 34, for assignment — for the second time this month — on Monday.The Mets previously DFA’d Tonkin on April 5 before trading him to the Minnesota Twins a few days later. The Mets brought him back last week after the Twins DFA’d him on April 13.Tonkin is 1-2 with a 6.00 ERA in six relief appearances this season with the Mets and Twins.
