New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. was suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount on Friday.Major League Baseball said in a statement that Chisholm was being punished for “his conduct, including his violation of Major League Baseball’s Social Media Policy for Major League Players” on Thursday against the Tampa Bay Rays.Chisholm will appeal the suspension and will play Friday against the Rays.Chisholm was ejected from Thursday’s game for arguing balls and strikes with home plate umpire John Bacon. An apparent ball four below the strike zone was instead called a third strike.
