Spencer Strider pitches Braves to sweep-sealing win over Mets

Spencer Strider pitched six strong innings and Matt Olson hit a three-run double to help the Atlanta Braves beat the visiting New York Mets 7-1 on Thursday and complete a three-game series sweep.It was just the second sweep of the season for the Braves, who have won six of their past seven games. New York has lost a season-high six straight.Strider (2-5) allowed one run on five hits and one walk with eight strikeouts. He retired 12 of the final 13 batters he faced while improving to 5-1 all-time against the Mets.Atlanta relievers Enyel De Los Santos, Dylan Lee and Rafael Montero each pitched a scoreless inning to finish the game.Olson went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two walks and two runs. He has hit safely in 10 straight games and has reached base safely in 20 consecutive games, the majors’ longest active streak.New York starter Clay Holmes (7-4) gave up three runs on four hits in 4 2/3 innings. He struck out five and issued a career-high six walks while throwing a career-high 104 pitches.The Mets scored the game’s first run in the second inning. Tyrone Taylor singled with one out, stole second and came home on Ronny Mauricio’s two-out single.
