Reports: QB Flacco agrees to one-year deal with Jets

The New York Jets reportedly reached an agreement with quarterback Joe Flacco on a one-year contract.Flacco’s representation, JL Sports, initially reported the news over social media on Friday. ESPN’s Adam Schefter announced that the contract was worth $1.5 million, although it can increase to $4.5 million if the former Super Bowl MVP reaches incentives. The move will reunite Flacco with Jets general manager Joe Douglas, who was a scout with the Baltimore Ravens when the team selected the now-35-year-old quarterback with the 18th overall pick of the 2008 NFL Draft.Flacco is not expected to be medically cleared until at least late August after undergoing neck surgery, NFL Network reported earlier this month.Flacco likely will back up Sam Darnold, who was the third overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft. Fellow quarterbacks David Fales and rookie James Morgan — a fourth-round pick — are also on the roster.
