Francisco Lindor, Starling Marte and Pete Alonso homered as the host New York Mets remained red-hot with an 8-3 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday night in the opener of a three-game series.Tyrone Taylor had a pair of RBI hits and Jose Azocar added a run-scoring single for the Mets, who arrived home Tuesday following a 19-5 win over the Washington Nationals on Monday afternoon.The 27 runs in a two-game span are the most for the Mets since they scored 30 runs in a doubleheader split with the Philadelphia Phillies on Aug. 16, 2018.Jorge Barrosa had two RBIs via a fifth-inning double and a ninth-inning groundout for the Diamondbacks, who have lost five of six. Randal Grichuk doubled in the eighth and scored on a throwing error by third baseman Mark Vientos.Taylor and Azocar delivered consecutive two-out RBI hits in the second against Eduardo Rodriguez (1-3) before Lindor hit a two-run homer just beyond the left field wall to make it 4-0. Marte hit a two-run homer in the third and Taylor added another two-out RBI hit to push the lead to 7-0. Alonso capped the Mets’ scoring in the fourth by launching a two-out solo shot off the second deck in left.Alonso, Taylor and Luisangel Acuna each had two hits each.
