New York Islanders forward Casey Cizikas and Tom Kuhnhackl will miss the remainder of the playoffs, the team announced.
Both players left the bubble in Edmonton, which is the hub city for the conference finals and the Stanley Cup Final.
The team is not permitted to disclose player injury or illness information as part of the NHL Return to Play Plan. The Islanders entered Sunday trailing 2-1 in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference finals against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Cizikas, 29, recorded two assists in 18 games this postseason. He collected 14 points (10 goals, four assists) in 48 regular-season contests.
Kuhnhackl, 28, last played on Aug. 5 in Game 3 of the Islanders’ qualifying round against Florida. He had one assist in three postseason games after recording six points (three goals, three assists) in 28 regular-season games.
