Second baseman Brice Turang and left fielder Jackson Chourio of the World Series champion Milwaukee Brewers added to their accolades when the 2026 Gold Glove Awards were announced by Major League Baseball on Sunday night.
Turang collected his second career Gold Glove, having also won in 2024, while Chourio was one of nine first-time winners as MLB honored the best defensive player at each position in each league.
The Arizona Diamondbacks and Boston Red Sox had the most players honored with three each. Third baseman Caleb Durbin was a first-time winner in his first season in Boston, while teammates Ceddanne Rafaela (second straight) and right fielder Wilyer Abreu (third straight) are the third set of outfield teammates to be awarded Gold Gloves in consecutive seasons. Barry Bonds and Andy Van Slyke (Pittsburgh Pirates in 1990-92) and Dwight Evans and Fred Lynn (Boston in 1978-79) are the others.
Catcher Gabriel Moreno (two-time winner), shortstop Geraldo Perdomo (first) and right fielder Corbin Carroll (first) were the Diamondbacks selected.
The Mets’ Nolan McLean became the first rookie pitcher to win a Gold Glove, while the Braves’ Mauricio Dubon won his record third as a utility player — including two with the Houston Astros — since the category was introduced in 2022.
Atlanta’s Matt Olson and Houston’s Christian Walker each won their fourth career Gold Glove. Walker won with the Diamondbacks from 2022-24.
Chicago Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong, the favorite to win the National League Most Valuable Player Award, collected his second consecutive Gold Glove.
MLB managers and coaches vote within their own league for all but the utility players and cannot vote for their own players. They make up 75 percent of the vote, with the SABR Defensive Index accounting for the other 25 percent. The utility Gold Glovers are determined by Rawlings and the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) using a separate, specialized defensive formula.
