Sabres’ Pilut undergoes shoulder surgery

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Lawrence Pilut will miss approximately five to six months after undergoing shoulder surgery, the team announced Monday.

The Sabres didn’t reveal which shoulder was operated on, nor did the club say when Pilut suffered the injury.

The timetable means the 23-year-old would miss the beginning of the 2019-20 season.

Pilut had one goal and five assists in 33 games as a rookie last season.
